Don't get scammed

You can avoid scammers by following these common sense rules

Deal Locally: With people you can meet in person. Follow this rule and you will avoid almost all of the scam attempts on mrfreeads.

Do Not Wire Funds: Anyone who asks you to send funds via western union or moneygram may well be trying to scam you. Our advice is do not use a wire service.

Fake Cashier Checks & Money Orders: There are many variations of the fake check scam. The checks are fake but they look real. In fact, they look so real that even bank tellers may be fooled. It could start with someone offering to buy something you advertised, or pay the first installment on the millions that you’ll receive for agreeing to have money in a foreign country transferred to your bank account for safekeeping. Or they may send you a check for more than you ask “by mistake” and ask you to wire them the excess. Never take a third party check for a buyer. You are responsible for the checks you deposit. When a check bounces, the bank deducts the amount that was originally credited to your account, and in some cases may sue you to recover the funds.

Mrfreeads Is Not Involved In Any Transactions: We do not handle payments, guarantee transactions, provide escrow services, or offer any form of buyer protection or seller certification.

Never Give Out Any Financial Information: bank account number, social security number etc.

Spoof Emails: Mrfreeads will never ask you for sensitive personal information such as you're User ID, password or bank account details by email, or ask you to complete a form within the email or in an attachment. This is a clear indicator of a Spoof email.
